Created in 2021 by Vietnamese-French artist Mai-Lin Dubois, "Lotus Reverie" represents the complex narrative of displacement and resilience. The sculpture is modeled after her mother, Linh, who fled Vietnam as a boat refugee in 1979, carrying nothing but a small pouch of lotus seeds from her family's pond—a reminder of home and hope for the future.
