Now Ursa travels between remote villages, carrying preserved wisdom to communities in danger of losing their heritage. His pouches contain seeds of extinct plants, his embroidery holds coded spells for harsh winters, and the colored tassels on his belt represent languages he's saved from extinction. Children immediately trust him, instinctively sensing the ancient kindness behind his solemn eyes. In villages he visits, grandparents often leave their doors open on winter nights, hoping to dream with him of ancestors whose names have been forgotten but whose wisdom lives on in the patterns of his beautiful garments.
